Nine Men’s Morris

Nine stones each, and three that belong together.

How to play

Begin by taking turns placing your nine stones on empty points. Make a line of three along a marked line—a mill—to remove an opposing stone. A stone in a mill is protected unless every opposing stone is in a mill.

After placement, move a stone along a line to an adjacent empty point. A player with only three stones may fly to any empty point. A completed mill earns another capture.

Lose when you have fewer than three stones after placement, or cannot move. Fifty movement turns without a new mill end the game in a draw.
